Special Criminal cases are types of cases that are outside the General Criminal Law which regulates certain actions or applies to certain people. Special crimes are part of Criminal Law. This law is outside the general criminal law that applies to certain people and actions and has special provisions for criminal procedures.

Several special crimes are regulated in separate laws outside the Criminal Code, namely:
1. Corruption Crime
Corruption is an act against the law by enriching oneself or others that can harm the economy and state finances. Eradication of criminal acts of corruption is regulated in Law no. 20 of 2001. Meanwhile, corruption is regulated in Law no. 31 of 1999.

The legal subject of corruption can be in the form of corporations and civil servants. Corruption is an act that is detrimental to the state and the welfare of the people. When viewed normatively, corruption is an extraordinary crime that can damage the life of the nation.

2. Money Laundering (TPPU)
In principle, money laundering is an attempt to hide or disguise the origin of assets obtained from various criminal acts, such as corruption, bribery, smuggling, labor smuggling, immigrant smuggling, banking, narcotics, psychotropic substances, slave trade, trafficking of women and children, trafficking illegal weapons, kidnapping, terrorism, theft, embezzlement, fraud, which are committed in the territory of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) or outside the territory of the Republic of Indonesia and such crimes are also criminal acts according to Indonesian law. If there is an indication of money laundering, the Service Provider must report it to the PPATK and the PPATK can forward it to the investigator (Police).

3. Psychotropic Crime
Psychotropics are drugs or substances, both natural and synthetic, not narcotics that are psychoactive. These drugs affect the central nervous system, causing changes in the behavior and mental activity of the users. The law that regulates the criminal act of using these drugs is Law no. 5 of 1997 (Psychotropic Law). Types of psychotropics that are often abused in the community include ecstasy, methamphetamine, amphetamines, the sedative dumolid, lexotan, mogadon, koplo pills, LSD and mushroom.

4. Narcotics Crime
Legal use of narcotics can only be used for medical and scientific purposes. Meanwhile, its use illegally can result in users being entangled in narcotics crimes as regulated in Law no. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. Examples of narcotics that are often abused are cannabis, marijuana, morphine, heroin, pethidine, cocaine, and hashish.
5. Crime of Information and Electronic Transactions
Information and electronic transaction (ITE) crimes are regulated in Law no. 11 of 2008 concerning ITE. The legal subject of this law can be either a corporation or an individual. The electronic transactions referred to are legal acts carried out by utilizing the internet, computers, and other electronic media.

6. Crime of Pornography
Pornography is a despicable crime and has the potential to damage the moral norms that exist in society. Law No. 44 of 2008 regulates the crime of pornography. The legal subject of pornography can be a corporation or a person.
